The small Asturian village of Cenciella, Spain, at the beginning of the twentieth century. The quiet life of Urbano and Estrella, a kind and naive couple in love, is seriously altered when they get involved in the fierce struggle between the local political factions.

Pelayo is leaving to work for his uncle Lorenzo and to find a nice girl to settle down with. Pelayo arrives to find out that Lorenzo's "business" is in fact a male strip show and Lorenzo's dancers are a laughing stock. Lorenzo has all his money tied up in his wedding with ex-prostitute Palmira. With Pelayo arriving life turns upside down. Can Lorenzo keep his infidelities a secret and his crew off the streets? Can Pelayo keep from falling for a prostitute on his way to finding a wife?

This movie doesn't have any coherent plot. It's the portrait of the lives of different people in the hard years of post-war in Spain (the 40's), and how they manage to survive in a country desolated by the war. Like other films: La colmena or Roma (Fellini) it shows us lots of characters and some moments of their lives.

To a give inn town a young man with him girlfriend returns. It is the last member of a family who, without knowing it, is going to fulfill an old curse: to end another family who many years before had killed him relatives. A psychiatrist helps the police to unravel the atrocious crime, in which they are themselves implied ghost and living deads.

A mature and successful businessman leads a peaceful life with his ​​family and his lover. However, his life is greatly complicated when found dead in bed a girl who had spent the previous night with him. The first thing that comes to mind to solve the problem is to remove the body, but that's not easy. Still, the case is much worse when someone who seems to know what happened, begins to blackmail.

Joaquín goes to Russia for business. There he falls in love with Tatiana, a young and beautiful interpreter who asks her to accompany him on his return as a maid - secretary - interpreter - lover or whatever.

When Martin is about to be expelled from some literature courses, an unexpected event gives a turn to his uncertain future as a writer. Taking advantage of the absence of his neighbor, a consecrated novelist who entrusts him with the care of his cat, Martín steals his identity and some pages of his latest novel, presented in the school as a result of his own work. As a result of this, the teacher congratulates him publicly and the girl he is in love begins to look at him with different eyes.

Pablo is a twenty-year-old man who wants to be a musician in order to be appreciated by his mother and find a male partner he can share his love with. He finds one, but because of his demanding behaviour, he is soon alone again. He tries to become a French horn player in the Youth Spain National Orchestra, but the examiner turns out to be his father, who's been living apart from his family and doesn't really accept Pablo's sexual trends. Once Pablo fails in his exam, he feels very depressed. When another French horn player from Valencia hasn't got a place to sleep, Pablo takes him home to his house. The next morning, however, he finds a girl named Salome inside of his bed.
