Religion comes between Sharif and Laila, bringing their love story to an end. Sharif moves on with his life, but Laila can’t, and then they meet again. The film is an ode to the golden age of Egyptian cinema, centring on the seamstress of Souad Hosny.

Amihar is impressed by Ram's drive and personal charm and so grants Ram some desolate land outside the capital. Ram soon finds himself a pawn in the political and sexual games between Amihar and his wife Simihit, a high priestess of the Cult of Amun.

Samia rebels against her unemployed husband until she gets a divorce, and starts dreaming of living outside the poor neighborhood into a rich life. She works for a rich man, and tries to seduce his son Sherif to marry her. But when she fails, she transfers the game to his unmarried uncle.
