
Radoš Bajić is a Serbian actor and scenarist. He appeared in more than fifty films since 1975. The most of his roles are funny caracters, comedy is the dominant genre. The scenarist is a series of Selo gori, a baba se češlja (English: The village is burning, and the grandmother is combing her hair), the most watched series in Serbian history.

A story inspired by the largest single rescue mission of downed Allied airmen behind enemy lines in aviation history of all time, codenamed “The Halyard Mission”. This action took place in the summer of 1944. It was led by the Yugoslav Army in the Fatherland that was headed by General Dragoljub “Draža” Mihailović. It was at great cost and sacrifice that the Serbian people saved 508 American and other Allied countries’ airmen from certain death, sending them off to safety from the improvised airfield in the Serbian village of Pranjani, at the foot of Mt Suvobor.

Stevan Jakovljević, a biology teacher and World War I veteran who fought for the Serbian army, arrives to the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the end of the war and the opening of an ossuary in the village where he used to be stationed with his first company, the Fifth Artillery Battery. There he encounters only the aged Commander, and through their flashbacks we see the fate of the Fifth Battery which was disbanded in that very village.
