Ljubivoje Tadić

Hailing from an old bourgeois family, actor Ljubivoje Tadić actively participated in the street protests of the 2000s. Having successfully completed his little revolution, feeling like a winner of history, Ljubivoje was also active as a deputy for a while. Twenty years later, Ljubivoje lives on the 1st floor of the “Excelsior” hotel in Belgrade, a few months after his apartment burned down.

The story is set on the day of bombing of RTS (Serbian national TV) in 1999, which follows five characters whose paths intertwine on the fateful night.

Three generations - three different microcosms - are entangled in circle. They were all looking for love but ended up experiencing aggression and escape from reality.

Brief history of Serbian history from the World War I

Ivan teaches history in a Belgrade high school. In his class, Ivan is provoked by a student and ends up slapping him on the face. In Serbia, in the heat of transitional changes, Ivan’s presence in school is no longer welcomed. He finds a temporary job opportunity in a war-scarred mountain village in Bosnia. On his way there, he meets Yasmina, a young Muslim woman, back from Germany to her homeland after the war and after being invited by an old friend – Hazim - who now runs a motel. A lone kiss in a stormy night, in a village still lying in ruins, will bring Yasmina and Ivan closer together in a joint escape from reality and to a ride on a dusty bus, where neither one of them wants to sit next to the window.

Dragi, young intern with his experienced colleague went to the province on a business trip. Older colleagues has the task to introduce a younger colleague into the business. They are sellers of books. But time is socialism. How to sell a book?

Based on personal experiences of the writer, it takes place in 1917 in the Serbian military hospital on the Thessaloniki front, where wounded and sick soldiers and officers open up many crucial discussions, while impatiently waiting for a general order to all allied forces for a joint breakthrough.

A story about war-disabled combatants that fought in Serbo-Turkish wars in 1876-1878. Left on their own and without limbs, they became beggars – a burden for the state that doesn’t pay attention about them. Their destiny depends exclusively on people who feel sympathy.

The violent break-up of former Yugoslavia is described from the Serbian point of view, using the story of ethnically mixed couple in war-torn city of Vukovar as metaphor.

The famous Serbian painter Milena Pavlovic-Barili, author of the masterpiece "A girl with the lamp", spends her last summer accompanied by young, curious actress.
