José R. Somoza

Biography

José R. Somoza (1913-2004) was a Nicaraguan military officer. He was a son of Nicaraguan dictator Anastasio Somoza García, and brother of Luis Anastasio Somoza Debayle and Anastasio Somoza Debayle, the 50th and 53rd Presidents of Nicaragua, respectively. In July 1979, the Somoza family was overthrown and José Somoza fled Nicaragua to Miami, Florida, where he died in 2004.
