We follow the small-time con artist Max and a white Lancia. The Lancia belongs to his mistress Lysette. Secretly renting out the Lancia to foreigners brings in a lot of money. Until it is used in a hit-and-run accident. And so Max ends up in a world of extortionists, gamblers, and blackmailed politicians.

The film revolves around Ekster. Ekster is the nickname of a shrewd extortionist who plays a game with the police. The action takes place in the diamond world.

Based on a true story. A treasure is discovered in the trunk of a car, with far-reaching implications.

Thanks to his actions during a farm fire, the young and naive Dreas is appointed to the local fire department, which awakens various ambitions in him. He constructs primitive watchtowers everywhere and achieves some successes, partly due to the activities of an arsonist. He is then allowed to attend a course at the fire academy in Maastricht. Back in his village, he fails during a fire at the local bakery, where everything goes wrong. Dismissed from his position, he finds new employment as a market vendor with a fire extinguisher he invented.

Each year Thomas goes an a pilgrimage but he has more difficulty to complete it, but then he is offered a footbath that appears to contain a miracle drug. Wouldn't this make a huge seller during Expo 58 in Brussels... .

Five rather frivolous musicians seize the opportunity to perform on a cruise in the Mediterranean. Alas: they are under contract to engage a female singer - and they fear to fall in love with her, which would endanger their friendship.
