The godless, rough-necked Ludwig Bruckmeier has repeatedly maneuvered himself into prison. Thanks to a generous donation, he is now being accommodated by his energetic probation officer Christine Wurzelbacher in Pastor Gabriel Gottwald's rectory, of all places. The man of God wants to bring the reluctant Ludwig onto the right path with the help of his kind pastoral advisor Elisabeth. But Ludwig turns the church, including the rectory and retirement home, upside down. He doesn't stop at the confessional either. There he has a lucrative encounter with Josef Wurzelbacher, the troubled husband of his probation officer.

Petra Hoffmann is in her early 50s and pregnant. She is not carrying her own child though, but that of her daughter. Midwife Lena Lorenz has been looking after mother and daughter for a while and the pregnancy has been unproblematic thus far, but shortly before the birth the family starts to break apart.

Enter Siegfried Grimm, the charismatic new teacher who finally recognizes Ursula's true potential. She falls for him, head over heels. A pity that Grimm sexually liberates the entire village - except Ursula. While the Grimm acolytes fight for the favor of their idol, Ursula resorts to more radical measures. Whatever it takes, she'll get back at Grimm.
