During the 1960s, a disabled man finds himself in an arranged marriage to the most beautiful girl in the village.

In this story set in ancient times, 31 women who lost their husbands, fathers, and children in war rise up against their lack of men after many years and demand that the state send them men to marry and have children. Five single men from different regions and cultures are selected at a porter market in Istanbul to marry these 31 women. The selected men, unaware of what awaits them, believe they are going to war. However, the porters, referred to as "human donkeys," find themselves in a completely different adventure instead of the front lines.

1960s Turkey countryside. A newly assigned teacher finds out that the solitary village is missing a school. He gets fond of the village people and especially a disabled man. The teacher helps the village to build a new school and educate the children and the disabled man.

In this distant and suffocating city, everyone—from the wounded cow roaming the hills to the imam at the mosque—has an issue related to pride. As the camera draws closer to its characters and events, it reveals that things are not as they seem, sparking our curiosity to understand the truth.

In a typical western Anatolian town with two-story wooden houses, a square, and narrow streets, Liberation Day is approaching. A group of locals has formed a choir and begun preparations for a classical music concert for Liberation Day. The choir is nearing the end of its rehearsals. Although the choir is not entirely harmonious, they have managed to achieve a certain unity and are now in their final rehearsals before Independence Day. They are all working together on Sadettin Kaynak's piece titled "Spring Is Over, Autumn Is Over." Everyone is filled with excitement for the upcoming concert. When the town wakes up the next day, everything seems to be the same as before, until two large black jeeps appear at the town limits and stop in front of the town hall. From the moment the three or four Chinese men who emerge from the jeeps, accompanied by a Turkish businessman, head toward the town hall steps, nothing in the town will ever be the same again.

A woman in love, a weak man, a father stumbling with his emotions, an uncle dependent on the past and a teenager meet at Zagor’s boarding house. Despite the serenity of the house, they all struggle to find the peace that they each need.
