The story of 16-year-old Janek, who, during a visit to his grandmother Melania's house in Toruń, befriends the teenage Zuza. The plot is set in the climatic period leading up to Christmas. Against the backdrop of a magical Christmas atmosphere, the characters face complicated family relationships, youthful dilemmas and difficulties in communicating with loved ones.

Simona Kossak - daughter of the painter Jerzy Kossak and granddaughter of Wojciech - deprived of the talent that has defined her family for generations, grows up without knowing the warmth of her despotic mother. A distraught man embarks on a journey to solve the mystery of her death. Soon he finds himself on the trail of a certain Wojnar - an actor whom he suspects of having an affair with his late wife. From that moment, questions begin to multiply, and the tragedy turns into a complicated mystery. Maciej comes to the conclusion that perhaps he did not know the woman he married at all.
