In the Holocaust, a gifted Jewish physicist named Rudolph is forced to build a teleporter for the Nazis. Rudolph keeps telling his Nazi supervisor Heinz that the machine doesn't work yet, but Heinz suspects Rudolph is hiding something. As Heinz is determined to squeeze the truth out by any means necessary, Rudolph soon has to face the dilemma of his life.

In the magical forest, the elephants dance and shake the whole jungle. The monkeys at the top of the trees make faces at the sly snake and the pack of wolves is joined by a new member - his name is Mowgli. Mowgli, a baby who is alone in the jungle, is adopted by the pack. The viewers follow Mowgli, how he survives, how his friends Bagheera the panther and Baloo the bear manage to save him from Shirkhan, the terrible tiger who wants to kill him. And finally the meeting with the human daughter, Mowgli's falling in love with Bana and the difficult decision to leave the forest.

"Hero of the Jungle" is a rare film produced for the Children's Channel during the original production at Beit Lissin in December 1996. The film documents the behind-the-scenes of the play which is now back on stage after 28 years with Tovia Tzafir, Tom Avni, Sasi Keshet, Avi Yaffe, Yossi Toledo, Eli Danker, and Pinny Kidron. Hanoch Rosen directed, Miron Minster composed (Ariel Zilber also contributed), and Ephraim Sidon wrote. Behind the scenes were added to the DVD released in 2013. They are half humorous and half serious.

A hardworking Israeli auto garage owner wants his two sons to get a college education, but the one supposedly studying medicine in New York returns home as a hippie freak and with a girl friend. The other student son lives in Tel Aviv and is plagued by his obsessive wife. The father one day mistakes his son's L.S.D for his daily pills and winds up in a hippie camp with his secretary and his son's girlfriend, and then the garage workers go on strike.
