In the main event, former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos will square off against fellow UFC veteran Yorgan De Castro in a heavyweight contest. Dos Santos will be competing for the first time since his departure from the UFC in early 2021. De Castro won his Eagle FC debut in January with a first-round guillotine over Shaun Asher in 64 seconds.

'Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 10: Lombard vs. Mundell' was a bare-knuckle fighting event held by Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship on February 15, 2020 at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, USA. Joe Riggs was scheduled to face Héctor Lombard in the main event, however Riggs suffered an injury in training and withdrew from the fight. David Mundell served as Riggs replacement, taking the short notice fight against Lombard. This event also featured the first 2 quarter-finals bout of the Tournament to crown the first BKFC Super welterweight Championship.

Quintet Ultra was a grappling team survival event held by Quintet on December 12, 2019 at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas, USA. This event was based around teams representing four of the most notable MMA promotions: the UFC, Pride Fighting Championships, Strikeforce and World Extreme Cagefighting. Combatants were chosen based on how closely linked their careers were to those promotions.

UFC Fight Night 137: Santos vs. Anders was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on September 22, 2018 at Ginásio do Ibirapuera in São Paulo, Brazil. A light heavyweight bout between former UFC Light Heavyweight Championship challenger Glover Teixeira and Jimi Manuwa was expected to serve as the event headliner. However, Teixeira pulled out on August 14 due to a shoulder injury. He was replaced by Thiago Santos. In turn, Manuwa pulled out on September 16 due to a torn hamstring and was replaced by Eryk Anders.

UFC 222: Cyborg vs. Kunitskaya is a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on March 3, 2018, at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, part of the Las Vegas metropolitan area.

UFC Fight Night 105: Lewis vs. Browne was a mixed martial arts event promoted by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on February 19, 2017, at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

UFC Fight Night 116: Rockhold vs. Branch was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on September 16, 2017 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A middleweight bout between former Strikeforce and UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold and former WSOF Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion David Branch headlined this event.

UFC 199: Rockhold vs. Bisping 2 was a mixed martial arts event held on June 4, 2016 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. After numerous opponents were forced to withdraw from the main event against Middleweight Champion, Luke Rockhold, the Ultimate Fighter 3 winner Michael Bisping accepted the fight. This fight was a rematch as the two met previously in November 2014 at UFC Fight Night: Rockhold vs. Bisping, with Rockhold winning via submission in the second round.
