Fortune's friends learn of the plot and decide to take the money for safekeeping, but Fortune intervenes; the real crooks do steal the funds, however, and depart with Helen in an automobile. Fortune overtakes the speeding car and rescues Helen.

Quirky chemist Eben Lamont has discovered a powerful new explosive and plans to turn it over to the government. Afraid that his formula will be stolen by Leslie, Lamont uses invisible ink to tattoo part of the formula on his daughter Grace's shoulder. A spy for a foreign government finds out about it, kills Lamont and kidnaps Grace, hypnotizing her so she'll tell him where the formula is. She is rescued by Leslie in the nick of time, but her troubles, as it turns out, are not yet over.

Mademoiselle Gobette, a pretty young actress, visits the offices of the Minister of Justice, Cyprienne Gaudet. Simultaneously, Madame Galipaux arrives to speak to the Minister on behalf of her husband. Gaudet mistakes Madame Galipaux for the new cleaning woman, and Mademoiselle Gobette for Madame Galipaux, leading to farcical complications when Monsieur Galipaux arrives.
