The film begins with a doctor explaining breast cancer and its detection methods. Then we learn that Kartika must have one of her breasts removed before the cancer spreads. To relieve her grief, she leaves for Switzerland, where she meets Maruli, a newly graduated doctor from Germany who works at a restaurant before going home. A romance occurs that results in marriage, even though his uncle does not agree with it, for the sake of a family tradition. After the marriage, Maruli is disappointed. He feels cheated after learning of Kartika’s breast removal. His mother is furious. He is reminded that his intention to study medicine is to help his mother, who was also left behind by her husband, Maruli's father, after her breast removal. He then returns to his wife, Kartika.

Dewi, who has many love problems with her boyfriends, falls into the arms of Dayan, her boss, who also has a problem after becoming a successful businessman. Being told by his doctor that he has only a few months left to live, he suddenly feels the emptiness at home. His wife, Anneke, has her own occupation. His two children are studying abroad, while the youngest rarely sleeps at home and eventually dies while playing Russian roulette. Dayan and Dewi find a mutual need to release the burden. The situation changes with the appearance of Ferico, an old school friend of Dewi, who continues to pursue her after his divorce. Both Dayan and Dewi finally return to their partners. Director Arifin chooses a “poetic” style of telling the story so that the storyline follows the internal conflicts of the characters. The poetry is also characterized by slick photography.

In this comedy, Dono, Kasino and Indro go hunting. Dono passes out during the hunt and is looked after by a local chief, whose daughter, Dono falls for. Soon after, he discovers the girl’s character, and runs away. He gets into another accident and is hospitalised. Then Dono falls in love with his nurse, Susy. But Indro also falls for Susy, but in the end, none of them wins her heart.

The quasi-skilled Kasino tries to install an abstract painting on the wall of Mr. Us Us’ house where he stays. The plaster wall is damaged. Afraid of Mr. Us Us’ wrath, Kasino, Dono, Indro, Marina, and Anita try to lie to Mr. Us Us but he finds out. They are scolded and ordered to repair the wall at once. The comedy continues with the arrival of Dono’s grandfather from the village. Dono has lied to his grandfather that he has become a doctor, but the latter knows his bad habits. Then Anita wants to test her boyfriend’s love, and asks Dono to pretend to be her boyfriend during a party. Unfortunately, Dono’s silly acts annoy Anita. When Indro’s food recipe is entered for a competition, which allows only women, Dono is forced to dress like a woman. Dono wins the competition but the prize is anulled once Dono’s identity is discovered. Dono protests by asking to take home the competition food. The committee refuses and a cake-throwing war ensues.

Three friends, Dono, Kasino, and Indro, open a restaurant because of Dono’s cooking expertise. There are situational jokes in the restaurant: the scary food critic who instead gives a good review; Indro and Susan, the cashier, who play around with the security guard’s handcuffs until they have to go around together, which annoys Indro’s girlfriend. There’s also gym humour when Henny, a stewardess friend of Dono, teaches him. And of course, there are jokes among the three friends.

The major success achieved by dangdut musician, Rhoma Irama, makes his siblings, Deddy and Herry, want to follow their brother’s footsteps. Coincidentally, the two brothers have twin girlfriends, Ela and Eli. The love of the two couples is so deep that when the parents of Ela and Eli want to match one of the twins to another man, they refuse. For Deddy, the challenge does not only come from Eli’s parents, but also from someone attracted to Eli. It hurts Deddy to witness Herry holding the hand of his girlfriend, Eli. Then Rhoma steps in to resolve the problem of his brothers.
