The hanged man is a child custody drama with thriller elements, situated on a small island off the southern coast of Norway. Down-to-earth fisherman Jon's long suffering marriage to local fortune teller Hedvig has finally collapsed, and frustrated with his wife's increasingly hard to ignore eccentricities, he takes their son and goes to live with his mother on another part of the island. The hanged man is a film that deals with themes such as fate, faith and coincidence, wrapped up in a exciting and intense drama.

During a live broadcast of a talk show on a TV channel, a group of armed Chechen terrorists take several hostages. The terrorists demand the hostage drama is transmitted live worldwide. Meanwhile, behind the scene, the police negotiator and a special police unit are working to try to rescue the hostages.

Andre omgang is the story of a father and his two sons trying to adjust to life's later summers; the father becomes a member of a singles' club, Sverre joins a swingers club, and Erik finds a new woman to live with. The three of them are passionate supporters of Skeid Football Club.

Erik Bruun (Nils Vogt) milks the social security system by making up a lot of tenants with one social security-entitled defect worse than the other, he starts this after he is fired two years earlier. His wife Linda (Kjersti Døvigen) knows nothing about this, but then one day when social security inspector Fylking (Ole Jørgen Nilsen) suddenly knocks on the door to check the conditions, a huge and increasingly complicated and intricate process starts for Bruun in the hope of avoiding to be revealed.

Frida, aged 13, has discovered a book by psychoanalyst Erich Fromm called "The art of loving". Using it as a reference she sets out to better the love lives of her family and friends. But love works in mysterious ways...

The bothers Ken and Bent are separated when their parents are divorced, and grow up as very different persons, before they meet as grown ups. They help each other out, but some years later Bent disappears. Only his crashed Buick is found.

Werner is a private investigator. One day, the rich and attractive Stella Hvidsteen visits him in his weary office. She says that her sister Evy has disappeared, asks him to find her, and adds that her sister has red hair.

Outer Senja in 1877. A young girl is found apparently lifeless among flotsam and seaweed. The storm has washed her ashore. Miraculously, they revive her, but she has lost her memory, and no one knows who she is or where she comes from. They call her "Båremor" or "The Girl from the Sea." A fisherman and his wife take care of her, and it gradually becomes clear that she has extraordinary abilities. Among other things, she plays the organ beautifully. The girl feels like a stranger among the weather-beaten coastal people, and she is driven to track down her original home. During her escape, she hides in the boat of the wandering vagabond Borr, a notorious and wanted daredevil. On the run from the sheriff and the priest, they try to find their way back to her birthplace.

This melodrama is based on the best-selling autobiography of Ida Halvorsen, a part-time prostitute with a life that was difficult to survive. Ida (Kristin Kajander) grew up with an alcoholic father, and after she married an alcoholic, her life went from early marital bliss to misery. She had a child during that marriage, took drugs, and turned to prostitution to get the money she needed. Along the way, many characters she met were dangerous and in more than one instance almost killed her. For Norwegians who are familiar with her story, the ending to the film will be recognized as incomplete, the story continues. For other audiences the ending might be a little grim.

A small peaceful town in Norway. But forces other than peace and tolerance are brewing beneath the surface. It all begins with Martin, a teacher, accused of being gay. The rumor spreads and also hits his friends Kjærsti and Sara, who live together. The three are deviants in people's eyes, and threaten the image of reality. In the municipal administration, two corrupt officials use the rumor to hide their own dishonesty.
