Based on "In a Grove" by Akutagawa Rynoske. One shiny summer day the investigation group comes at former quarry check of indications of accused, witnesses and victims of the murder and the rape took place there half a year ago.

The film is about the complex, passionate and at the same time deeply respectful relationship between two genius directors, a teacher (Meyerhold) and a student (Eisenstein). In the most difficult conditions of the totalitarian regime, adherence to eternal values helped both defend their art and themselves in it, preserve honor and dignity. Their relationship, creative and everyday actions are not only an artistic, but also a moral testament to future generations.

Blending dramatic situations with a documentary-influenced visual style, Happy Birthday looks in at a typical day in a Russian maternity hospital. The patients range from a middle aged woman pleased if surprised by her current pregnancy to a Muslim woman whose marriage to a Russian has blighted her relationship with her family. No matter what their situations, the women draw strength and support from each other as they share their common experience.

A future president must have no secrets from the voters — not even in his personal life. Intimate details can become powerful weapons in the hands of political opponents. And so, the presidential candidate is forced to publicly introduce his first wife — a woman he once loved passionately… and then betrayed.
