After numerous military operations, Major Müller can't find a way back into civilian life. Following his urge to communicate, the Major is looking for listeners and encouragement. He doesn't find either. Instead, the repeated monological memory of his own heroic deeds determines his present – with all the consequences. This 30-minute short film is based on the statements made by the mercenary Siegfried Müller in the documentary “The Laughing Man” (Walter Heynowski and Gerhard Scheumann, DEFA studio for newsreels and documentaries, 1966), as well as records from the German colonial period in Africa. An intensive contribution to the necessary public debate about the consequences of military operations.

Chocolatier Karl Sailer unexpectedly loses his job in Hamburg and his wife also becomes unemployed. The offer from his old master from Garmisch comes at just the right time: He needs the former apprentice for his chocolate factory in order to win a tender. Due to a lack of alternatives, Karl, his wife and children move to the family farm in Bavaria. However, an old dispute with his stubborn father causes trouble.

A shimmering summer story set in a summer house on the Baltic coast. Fascinated by airships, Robert gets a job in the assembly shop thanks to Thea's brother Konrad, with whom he has fallen madly in love. The trio spent all their spare time together, frequently accompanied by Karl. In 1937, obsessed with zeppelins, Robert, now the father of a young Jakob, abandons his wife. One night, Konrad died under mysterious circumstances when he fell from a ready-to-launch Hindenburg. A few months later, Robert also died aboard an airship. In the 70s, Jakob, then his own son, Matthias, in 2005, will successively try to understand what happened...
