This film tells the story of a semi modern Iranian couple, who are trying to fight the old beliefs and old generation. This is a failing battle because the man is not strong enough.

Hasti, a widowed nurse who has a daughter, marries a paranoid wealthy man.

Minoo who is married to Moosa recently, is moving to the new house. But Moosa receive a letter in which he being told to get back to the Minoo Island (a border island between Iran and Iraq), to dispatch a watch tower there from the period of war. Moosa who has a lot of memories of that place refuses to go there but his wife Minoo is insisting. Finally she manages to convince him and both go there.

Pari is an honor student in literature and theatre at Tehran University. Attracted to the life of her late brother Asad, an ascetic and devotee to Eastern philosophy, she abandons her usual life and embarks on a journey to find herself and discover who she really is. Lord is the great house of happiness. His daughter Maryam and Sohrab, Saadat's son, become interested in each other. One day, the two are captured by the gendarmes, and Saadat, after guaranteeing them, forbids his son from continuing the relationship with Maryam, and in order to prevent their relationship, he orders two people to monitor Sohrab. Sohrab continues his relationship with Maryam and does not heed his father's warnings. Maryam's father also blames his wife and daughter for continuing the relationship. Sohrab and Maryam decide to run away from home. Before leaving, the two eat poisonous contaminated food that Sohrab's mother feeds the neighborhood's stray dogs. Sohrab and Maryam live together in a carousel.
