A group of friends have gathered for their regular poker night, but instead of dealing stud, they are presented with a new game where they try to decide who has the nastiest story about an ex-wife.

With his book on sexual con men finally completed, York Madison seeks a publisher to make his fortune. When the publisher turns out to be a woman, he is apprehensive knowing that the subject matter might prove to be distasteful to her. However, he is elated as she seems to show great interest in his work. He happily relates the contents of his book, which essentially explore sexual exploitation of women by men.

A writer finds out that his wife is leading a double life, which includes a second husband who lives on the other side of town. He presents this story to his editor, who is so intrigued by it that she takes her male secretary along and sets out to find out whether the writer's wife is actually doing what he says she is.

Freudian repressions fill the fantasies of a sexually bored housewife, a seemingly emasculating businesswoman employer, a shy dinner attendee, an older woman, a lonely roommate and a sexually curious teenage niece.
