The friendship between Jorge Amado, Dorival Caymmi, and Carybé, artists who were largely responsible for creating an image of the culture of Bahia that persists to this day, and who believed that the strength of their work lay in documenting what they saw on the streets.

A musical film about the baião, a movement in Brazilian music in the 1940s and 1950s that was later snowed under by samba and bossa nova.

Filmed in a mini DV, the film "República Tiradentes" is an affective poetry, based on the stories of gafieira dancers, actors, rascals, girls and all the bohemians who lived and live moments of joy and glory in downtown Rio de Janeiro. It is a tribute mainly to the origin of the gafieira.
