Patsy De Forest

Chick Crandall, half owner of the Flying A Ranch, returns home after a five-year absence and, because he is suspicious of his foreman Sam Curtis' activities, decides to proceed incognito. Disguised as Harold Montague, his partner's son, Chick works among the ranch hands and discovers that Curtis is rustling cattle and is responsible for driving Barbara Hampton and her aunt from their home.

When Sunset Sprague saves Calico Barnes from a bandit, the two men become friends. Barnes is heading out to protect his niece, Rose Loring, whose father was murdered right after his mine struck gold. Sprague goes to help and finds himself up against the villainous Mace Dennison.

The roommates live in a boarding house run by a strict landlady. When the landlady arrives to collect the rent, the men hide behind a trick door. The men are able to "reclaim" the rent money they just paid when the landlady leaves, and they use the roll of cash to pay the rent for their friends in the building, too.
