The mysterious, impoverished Count Virtus (Federspiel) realizes his dream of a life at sea, and his young servant Kent (Springborg) must endure much pain before he finds happiness.

A young orphan is sent to live in a Danish village where he is cast out because his mother was a West Indian. With nowhere to turn, the ingenious survivor begins devising a new life outside of town.

Jacob and Else Svendsen are a happily married couple. He is a taxi driver and experiences the small and big events of the big city in a way that only a man behind the wheel of a taxi with the whole city as his workplace can. But a shadow hangs over their marriage – a shadow from the past. Else was married once before, but had to divorce because her former husband, Eigil Rasmussen, suffered from pathological jealousy.

Theodor Nielsen lives a peaceful life with his adult daughter Eva. Then the weather vane on the nearby church tower starts squeaking every night. Theodor goes to the priest, who refers him to the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs, which in turn refers him to the municipality, which in turn does nothing. Theodor takes advantage of his side job at the radio station and tells all the listeners about the annoying weather vane. Theodor becomes a folk hero and is encouraged to run for municipal office. He is elected but is heavily manipulated by his party colleagues. However, Eva helps him get back on track.

Lau Lauritzen plays an ordinary architect, with a wife and a son. He gets accused for killing a 10-year old girl, and of course nobody doubts he's the one. Even his wife and his uncle has trouble believing him, but at least they don't tell him.

Søren Holm becomes a pastor in the small town of Harslev. The parish council chairwoman, Mrs. Andersen, interferes in the pastor's family's private life, and when Søren plays in a soccer game to get to know the town's young men, Mrs. Andersen becomes furious. Half of the parish turns its back on Søren. But Søren does good work for the young people, and gradually, with the help of the parish clerk, he is accepted by both the parish council and the town's youth.

On the 9th of April 1940, the crew of a Danish merchant ship receives the news of Germany's invasion of Denmark. Instead of returning home, they vote in favor of setting course for England. The crew will undergo much hardship over the next five years ...

Directed by Danish filmmakers Bjarne and Astrid Henning-Jensen, THOSE BLASTED KIDS tells a story of a group of back-alley urchins that is considered Denmark’s first true children’s film.

Peter and Tove are getting married. Since Peter only has three days' leave from his ship, they decide to go on their honeymoon to Copenhagen. After eating out in town, they check into a hotel for the night. The newlyweds quickly become embroiled in a crime drama. First, Peter finds a dead body in the bed. When the night porter finally arrives, the body has disappeared. The body is seen again in a large trunk, but disappears once more before the night porter can see it. Then Peter is kidnapped in the trunk.
