The main character, a forty-year-old doctor, tries to cope with situations that life throws at her as a successful dentist, but a less successful mother, lover, and ex-wife. The heroine's relationship with her daughter, lover, mother, and ex-husband is portrayed very convincingly and without the slightest idealization, reflecting the ambiguity and controversy of the contemporary female condition. Although the author accumulates in his novel and television script almost all the paradoxes of today's self-employed woman in the heroine, nevertheless (or precisely because of this) her story reflects the experience of most contemporary women. Especially those who place high demands on themselves and others, which, however, can rarely be met one hundred percent. And if it turns out that we owe the greatest debt to our own daughter, then it is no surprise that everything starts to change completely...

Bára and Luboš's marriage has long been dead, and her husband is living with another woman. Nevertheless, Barbora wants to adopt a child from a children's home. She asks her husband to support her and go through the adoption process with her. That is the only thing she still asks of him. But her husband hesitates, still remembering how Bára once had an abortion against his will. Nevertheless, he eventually agrees, and so the couple arrives at the children's home to pick up their son. Bohoušek is cute and spontaneous. The grandmother immediately takes to the boy, but Bára struggles with her emotional problems. Despite everything, she still loves her husband. The question remains whether she wants to use the child mainly to solve her loneliness...

An intimate psychological film which elaborates the Faustian theme about the dispute between the body and the soul - a study on human identity. Two young doctors carry out the surgical exchange of the brains of two women who are dying after a car accident - a young girl and member of a criminal gang, and a lonely seventy-year-old associate professor of oriental studies. The director Ivan Balaďa was not allowed to finish this gloomy, black-and-white parable, inspired by Chekhov's short story Pavilion No. 6 - only after the fall of communism, more than twenty years later, did the film hit the cinema screens, unfortunately to negligible acclaim. In fact, it is only now that we can fully enjoy the story of an aging, increasingly exhausted mental institution doctor who is inexorably sinking to the level of his patients.

Painter Horace visits his friend, a former criminalist, and is intrigued by two strange women who live in the house opposite. The old sisters have lived together their entire lives, quarreling, doing things to each other on purpose, but they cannot be without each other. And then one day both sisters are found dead in their locked apartment. They poisoned themselves with gas. Officially, the case is closed as a suicide. But Horace doesn't think so... Even though his criminalist friend discourages him, he continues his investigation. Were the women murdered? And is Janza involved, or their friend Pesný, who was supposed to live in their apartment?

College student Marta decides to seal her relationship with Zdeněk with a secret wedding. All that remains is to announce this fact to both parents. The bride's parents are a very interesting couple - the strict mother, a teacher, is a big stickler for order, the father, whom the tender half affectionately calls "daddy", doesn't bother with anything and spends his time composing poems. The groom's parents are currently most concerned with how to get their daughter Marcela married in the most favorable way possible, whose idol in life is the singer Jiří Korn.
