In 2003, Okinawan high schooler Miu gets interested in Minato-senpai, who has just lost his both parents. She cheers him up by exchaning MiniDisk mix tapes with him. They start a long-distance relationship when Minato graduates and moves to Tokyo, and Miu eventually follows him to Tokyo for college. Some years later, while Miu is struggling with her job hunting, Minato suddenly breaks up with her, and she returns to Okinawa. 15 years later in 2024, Miu is married to her childhood friend Ryusei, and is now terminally ill. Her daughter Himari is sent to Tokyo to deliver a message on a MiniDisk to the man her mother loved.

An editor of the occult magazine suddenly disappeared. His friend, a freelance writer, found out that he had been collecting occult articles in the past until just before he disappeared. The articles were all rumors, urban legends, and ghost stories whose truth or falsity could not be determined. In the year 2020, when Covid-19 is rapidly spreading around the world, chaos ensues and people's daily lives are completely upended. A virus outbreak suddenly occurs at the prime minister's office in Japan. This leads to the prime minister's sudden death. The Japanese government then puts in place an unprecedented plan, which is to bring back the greatest leaders from Japan's past through AI holograms and form a super cabinet with them. These famous individuals include Ieyasu Tokugawa, Ryoma Sakamoto, Nobunaga Oda, and Hideyoshi Toyotomi. People are stunned and at the same time go crazy over the endless execution of policies by this new legendary cabinet. Risa Nishimura wants to become an announcer and currently works as a TV reporter for a broadcasting station. She approaches a government spokesperson, Ryoma Sakamoto, for an exclusive scoop. Due to an unexpected case, she realizes that something is going on behind this cabinet.

The setting is a recruitment examination for an IT company, there are six finalists who are given the task to build a team and hold a discussion in one month's time. So, they deepen their interaction with each other so that all to receive offers. But soon they will find that the assignment has been changed and there will be only one succeosor. 6 envelopes are found in the discussion room which contain accusations of the "crimes" of each of the six. Who is the liar? The ultimate psychological battle begins.

A corpse of a clown is found in a park. Detective Shirataka Amane of Musashino Higashi Police Station begins investigating with rookie detective Uzuka Shinsaku. They find a picture of the victim holding a balloon with the number 1 and the letters TTX on social media which indicates pufferfish poisoning. Shirataka intuitively suspects that this is an incriminating statement done by a serial killer, but Chief Investigator Fukukawa Saeko denies her. Detective Kusano Seiya and other personnel of MPD First Investigative Division join the investigation, then a second murder occurs. Shirataka recalls an unsolved kidnapping and murder case from two years ago that she still regrets.
