Quebec, 1960s. Agathe, an asthmatic child, lives with her mother Thérèse, a melancholic artist. At night, the recurring siren of a train fuels her vision of a parallel world where travelers from the future pass through. As a teenager, Agathe meets Frank, a young writer, who allows her to cross the border between the present and the future.

When Jaime, a gay teenager, is sent to live in a community of Jehovah's Witnesses in small-town Quebec, she falls madly in love with a devout Witness girl. The two embark on an intense affair with consequences that will reshape the rest of their lives.

One evening, at the bend of an alley, an ordinary man surprises two young people who have just committed a crime. In panic, the teenagers take this witness hostage and drag him into their escape. Then begins for two generations that everything separates, an inner journey which will mark the three souls forever.
