After spending 20 years in American, a young man returns to his home country of Indonesia.

Darmanto and his wife, Marini, are in Malaysia as he is invited as a guest lecturer. Marini is pregnant and gives birth in Malaysia. But at the hospital, her baby is accidentally switched with the baby that belongs to a Malaysian couple, Lukman and Samina. They find out about this when the baby has to be operated for to a kidney defect. But Lukman and Samina do not want to switch the babies back. With help from many sides, the problem is finally solved.

Director Arifin chooses a “poetic” style of telling the story so that the storyline follows the internal conflicts of the characters. The poetry is also characterized by slick photography.
