Tonya, an African American trans woman has journeyed cross-country from her small Mississippi hometown to California in pursuit of her dream to be an actress. While en route to Los Angeles, she accidentally gets stranded in the suburbs of Los Angeles and becomes engulfed in a gritty world after being introduced to Mickey, a Neo-Nazi low-level meth dealer. But to both of their surprise, they begin falling in love just as they find themselves the prey of some ruthless drug dealers.

Nerdy middle schooler Tommy is forced take care of a baby dinosaur after his cloned science fair project hatches early. He quickly begins to think of the creature not only as a pet, but also as a friend. But when the dino escapes on the day of the fair, Tommy must figure out a way to get the creature back before greedy grown-ups get to the dinosaur first.

A nighttime protest downtown has escalated to require police backup for crowd control. As cop partners and a hobbyist photographer arrive late to the scene, an altercation takes place -- but what occurred depends on whose perspective you see.
