On January 25th, 2024, Hiroshi Uchida, a 70-year-old man with terminal cancer made a deathbed confession to the Kamakura hospital staff treating him: “I am Satoshi Kirishima.” On January 29th, he died. For 49 years, Kirishima was a fugitive pursued by the police for his involvement with the East Asia Anti-Japan Armed Front’s bombing campaign that terrified Tokyo in the 70s. While others from the group were caught and sentenced to death, Kirishima remained on the run and off the radar by working as a day-labourer and living a solitary life amongst neighbours who affectionately dubbed him “Ucchan,” a quiet guy known to like a beer and rock music.

Sasaki is a sincere civil servant, working at city hall. Yuichi Sugawara is a freelancer, who spends his days meaninglessly. He lives with his long-term girlfriend Satomi Suzuki. When he starts to feel uncomfortable around them, he leaves them behind. He then crosses paths with his father, Koji, for the first time in ten years. Koji also ran away from his family, including Yuichi, at that time. Koji then invites Yuichi to come over to his house. Hen accepts and turns off his smartphone to cut off all the relationships he has.

A couple who are about to divorce argue over who should take custody over their pet cat. The cat flees and disappears due to the human commotions, causing connections and revelations to be revealed.
