De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas is widely considered one of the most influential black metal albums of all time. This is the first time in history this classic album from 1994 is performed live in its entirety. Recorded in Norrkjöping Sweden 18.12.2015 at Black Christmass Festival.

The film discusses the traits and originators of some of metal's many subgenres, including the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, power metal, Nu metal, glam metal, thrash metal, black metal, and death metal. Dunn uses a family-tree-type flowchart to document some of the most popular metal subgenres. The film also explores various aspects of heavy metal culture.

Features a live show filmed in Marseille, France, on September 24, 1999 and includes interviews with band members and exclusive backstage footage. Also released on DVD with extra features, as Collector's Edition 2x LP vinyl limited to 500 copies & CD limited to 500 copies. The back of the DVD case incorrectly says it was recorded in 1999.
