The son of a single mother kills a person who had tried to rape her. During the trial, when the mother steps in to give her verdict, she finds that the judge is none other than her son's father.

A young man rescues a woman from drowning. However, he soon discovers to his surprise that the woman has astounding supernatural powers that she never revealed before.

Sivan, an orphan, is seduced by Sumati, the daughter of the family he is adopted into. Her enraged father sends Sivan to jail, after which he meets a prostitute who changes his world view.

Ramu, a farmer, fights against an evil landlord when he uses illegal ways to make money. He faces many challenges when the landlord tries to plot against him.

The film observes a young man's return from city living to the village. The film's mood is sorrowful. He leads a very wayward life and tries not to get himself attached to family ties but eventually gets drawn into the bondage of relationships and family by his step sister.

This is an intersting movie as it is very different to the movies that were realeased in the 70s.Most of the movie is shot outdoors and it is more in touch with reality rather than the usual dramatic type. Prem Nazir's performance is something very diffrernt to his usual polished self. He acts as a rough police officer which is a welcome change.
