The people at Circus Hepokatti decide to throw a big surprise party for Herman The Clown, but no one seems to know when Herman's birthday is. No one has ever organized a birthday party for him before. The birthday arrangements take a surprising turn when the ruthless leader of a rival circus, the ringmaster Tilpehööri, wants Herman to be the attraction of his own circus by any means necessary. When his attempts to trick Herman fail, Tilpehööri decides to bring in the more extreme methods, and soon things start to get weirder and weirder at the Circus Hepokatti.

Herman the Clown sets out to find his father, whom he hasn't seen since he set off to measure the Earth with his feet. He is secretly followed by the son of Max the Magician, ten-year-old Roni. And so begins an exhilarating adventure full of magic, twists and colorful circus life.

The story of a young poet who became a symbol for Finnish optimism and was subsequently forced underground during Tsar Nicholas II's oppressive dictatorship.

The film tells the story of two very popular Finnish singer/songwriters: Tapio Rautavaara and Repe Helismaa, who worked together until their relationship got frictious for a long time. The film covers the years from 1949 to 1965. Since the film is based on real-life persons it also tells much about the change in Finland during those years and of course much about Finnish popular music.

Pipsa has fallen prey to a shady scientist Kalevi. Pekko tries to save her.

A Black man arriving in Tyräaho causes consternation among the villagers. Meeri Aavasuo wants an adopted child and to promote the cause, she tries to get Pekko as her husband, whose heart still beats for Pipsa. Beauty salon owner Kaisa Kuovi's and her policeman Reino's baby goes missing.

Pekko is jealous when Pipsa is under the spell of the handsome Markku. The children Kalle and Katariina enjoy each other's company. Beauty salon owner Kaisa Kuovi and police officer Reino are preparing for their wedding.

A child who is the subject of a custody dispute flees from the social welfare authority from Tyräaho to Helsinki with Pekko. In the capital, the friends are helped by Pipsa, Pekko's crush, who joins them on a runaway trip. The press and the people of Tyräaho follow the trio's antics unflinchingly.

Pekko has a crush on Pipsa, a beautiful archeologist.
