It is 80's Turkey, local musicians of Adiyaman are hired by the military and trained to welcome one of the forceful generals of coup regime.

Based upon an ancient epic poem by "Ahmad Khani", the film relates the story of Mem,a young Kurdish boy, who falls in love with Zin, the daughter of the governor of Butan,when the people are celebrating "Newroz", the ancient national ceremony of Kurds.

When Zeynel goes away to work, her lover Elif is adopted by a rich aga. After a while, it is heard that Elif is pregnant.

Living in an Ankara shantytown, Mehmet plays the clarinet at a nightclub to support his family. When their home is sold to a contractor by his brother-in-law, the gap between Mehmet’s dreams and reality significantly grows.

A father and son come to grips with external hardships and their own human frailties as they attempt to earn enough money to send the boy to school.
