As skateboarding becomes an Olympic sport, this character-driven film reveals the anxiety and pressures of competition, effects of social media, and how a global pandemic upended the promise of a young skater destined to be the best.

Skate Dreams, the first feature documentary about the rise of women’s skateboarding, profiles a group of women whose pursuit of self-expression, equality, and freedom have created an international movement on and off their skateboards. From their boycott of the X-Games, to their defiance of traditional skateboarding gatekeepers, through grueling worldwide skate competitions in the run up to the Olympics, Skate Dreams showcases the charismatic personalities, indomitable spirits and amazing talent of these trailblazing pioneers.

Combining jaw dropping surfing, stunning cinematography, secret spots, new discoveries, good times and more, Sweet Adventure follows ground breaking surfers Albee Layer and Matt Meola, plus skate megastar Nora Vasconcellos, from the thumping waves of Maui to the jungle point breaks and empty beaches of El Salvador in search of the perfect wave.
