Yakut Stepan Beresekov periodically falls into a lethargic sleep. Only a Russian, the son of a priest, Ivan Popov, can distinguish his condition from real death. But Popov is going on a long ethnographic expedition. Stepan decides to follow his savior so as not to be buried alive.

A heinous crime is committed in a small remote Russian village. Police officer Afonya is a prime suspect. The locals are ready to take matters into their own hands. Having quarreled with his father Altan goes to work in the North. He will have to spend a month alone on a deserted island. But soon a neighbor appears. He is old Baibal who has come to the island to spend the last days of his life there. He asks Altan to bury him next to his wife. But the guy finds out that long ago the old man’s daughter went missing. He talks the old man into publishing an entertainment blog to find his daughter and put of the man’s death. Every day Altan does his best to stimulate the old man to live another beautiful day.

The film is set hundreds and hundreds of years ago. The viewer will be transported to distant Sakha, where brave warriors will go to the Lower World to save the beautiful Aikuo. What obstacles will our heroes face? Who is the truth behind — a human or a demon? Everything can turn out differently than they say in the legends. Everything is possible, because the boundless North is as unpredictable and mysterious as it is cold and harsh.
