Second half of the 1960s. Novikov, an employee of the apparatus, is a charming and successful functionary, married to the daughter of a former party leader. His life is a success — he has a status, a family, two children, as well as a young mistress — student Tanya, for whom he will never divorce... During the conflict at a youth construction site in Siberia, which he must repay, Novikov shows himself as an experienced dodger and a provocateur. Tanya's father, a war veteran and an honest worker, Ivan Dronov considers himself entitled to punish this scoundrel...

In the waters of the Pacific Ocean, regular maneuvers of the Soviet and American squadrons are taking place. After months of autonomous navigation, our military frigate heads to its home base. The distress signal received forces sailors to change course. The CIA arranges a provocation: on a secret American base, one of the missile launchers was prepared for a real strike on the enemy’s squadron. Instead of saving people, Soviet sailors will have to intervene in the deadly game started by NATO. At the cost of tremendous effort, the crew of one of the Soviet ships managed to prevent the catastrophe provoked by CIA agents. They enter a real battle...

Because of the shepherd's negligence, a herd of cows almost died. Many people immediately took advantage of this circumstance to settle personal scores with the collective farm chairman Birulin, a very stroppy and harsh but knowledgeable leader. The bureau of the district committee, where not everyone was happy with him, recommends the collective farm board to remove the chairman. However, the collective farmers do not agree with this decision. The new secretary of the district committee comes to the collective farm and is convinced that the bureau has made a mistake. But the decision to reconsider the case is delayed: Birulin is hospitalized with a heart attack.

The plot of the film is based on real events of the Great Patriotic War. When the Nazis occupied Crimea, the actors of the drama theater of the city of Simferopol entered the underground group Sokol. The activities of the underground members were diverse: they put up leaflets with information from Soviet Information Bureau, compiled maps showing the strategic objects of the enemy, and supplied the partisans with medicines. On April 10, 1944, 3 days before the liberation of Simferopol, the underground members died from enemy bullets — they were shot on the outskirts of the city.

The landlord unsuccessfully tries to reach his friend Nina. He, dialing a number, gets to a girl who is also called Nina. Her answers seem strange to Vadim Nikolayevich until he realizes that he is in some unusual way talking with a child from Moscow in 1942.

Ivan Sergeevich Kashkin — the bath attendant of the most prestigious metropolitan bath. It’s not easy to get to him: reputable diplomats, well-known footballers, and the heads of the ministry are seeking the honor to steam. Their eldest son, Ilya, a sanitary doctor, demands the closure of one of the city's enterprises. However, war criminals, who are hiding from retribution, know that the Gestapo archives are hidden in the building's basement and fear that the documents might be discovered. Terrified of exposure, they try to prevent Ilya from carrying out this action and attempt to discredit the Doroshins.
