The protagonist of the film, a foreign student, after graduation does not want to return to his country because of the military coup that took place there. But the Soviet government gave clear deadlines for him to leave the country.

The film's characters are Pavel, a successful rake journalist who writes on acute Perestroika topics, and an intelligent but free woman (a doctor by profession) who is trying to escape from unnecessary love. A chance acquaintance becomes the beginning of their long difficult relationship on the way to love and mutual understanding.

Pretty Joy and her friend come to Moscow to shoot a commercial. A taxi driver, who recruits girls for an underground organization run by a distant descendant of Rasputin, suggests they visit the Rasputin Museum. During the tour, the girls are hypnotized by the evil character, who hypnotizes his victims before using their charms to seduce the rich tourists.

The film is based on real events that took place in Moscow in the early 1980s. A KGB officer in plain clothes returning late at night is detained by a police patrol at the Zhdanovskaya metro station. The officer, who began to actively protest against the arbitrariness, was taken to the police duty room and severely injured. After that, the police officers decided to finish off their victim and take the body away and dump it outside the city. The investigation is entrusted to Gleb Yarin, an investigator with the USSR Prosecutor's Office. Soon he finds himself involved in a confrontation between two irreconcilable rivals — the KGB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The senior police leadership is determined to cover up the scandal between the security agencies by any means necessary.

The bodyguard has learned too much and must be eliminated, but Selikhov will not become a pawn in the dirty game of those in power.

Klim, illegally convicted of karate training, returns home after five years in prison. Finds shelter with a caring uncle Pasha. But the desire to find the one who sent him on a “five-year vacation”, and even killed a friend, makes Klim stir up the “rat corner” of corrupt cops and local bandits. But the truth is treacherously bitter.

The hero of the film, slightly satiated with life, and therefore suffering from its hopeless grayness, was made an extraordinary offer and, what's more, a very lucrative one: a job in bed. The new employee of the firm "Branch" was given a code number - 13. And then love came. And the hero began to have troubles...
