Nina Denisova, a student of a pedagogical institute, together with a concert brigade comes to the construction of a railroad. Here she meets her former classmate, with whom she is secretly in love, and decides to stay at the construction site. Nina will not immediately realize that because of Tolik she should not have left the institute and changed her life in such a way, but she will not regret her decision.

Fyodor Stepanovich, the head of SMU, once discovered his striking resemblance to an auxiliary worker, Petya. It turns out that the latter had always been jealous of the boss and dreamed of taking his place. Fyodor Stepanovich, completely overwhelmed with work, decided to meet Petya's needs.
