Set in the period between the two world wars in a seaside village in the bay of Amvrakikos. Two children, Petros (8 years old) and Anthoula (7 years old) spend their summer holidays. During a walk they discover in an isolated shack a boy who lives with his mother. He is rejected by the community because of tuberculosis. Petros and Anthoula become friends with the boy. They encounter the cruelty of the adults and they decide to resist.

Kyriakos has spent his entire career working for the Greek Customs Service. In eastern Macedonia, the Bulgarians receive from the Germans the conquered Greek lands. Bulgarian Major Antoine Paiko is appointed governor of the area he had destroyed in 1918, shortly before he retreated. He secretly seizes Gregory and puts in place his twin brother Ivan Simeonov, whom the Bulgarians have kidnapped and raised as theirs. The "savior" fools the villagers, but not Gregory's fiancé.

A mad man, Spyros, wants to marry Marianna, his lively sister. He wants to give her a dowry apartment, but his money is not enough for that. So he has to ask for a loan from his boss. The boss refuses to serve him but as soon as he knows Marianna, he changes his mind. Spyros tries to think of Marianna, who is smirked for his boss's mistress, but he only manages to lose his job. He wants to marry her with the poor and honest electrician Manolis, who is in love with her.

Polyxeni becomes enraged when she finds her husband flirting with their maid. After dismissing the girl, she leaves her husband and goes to live at her parents' house. There, however, by chance, her former maid comes to work as a domestic helper. Polyxeni's father, brother, son-in-law, a naval officer, and two of his sailors fall in love with the maid, leading to misunderstandings and comical situations.

The rich Petros and Eleni, who has a strict brother, have a relationship that is going through a difficult time due to their family environment and especially his mother. He goes to the army, his traces are lost, and she is thrown out by her own brother and finds herself on the street. A promoter (Vangelis Seilinos) exploits her and she becomes a stripper in a cabaret. After a while, he appears, the couple is back together, but she does not tell him what job she does. Until a friend tells the young man the truth and takes him to the cabaret...
