Klim, illegally convicted of karate training, returns home after five years in prison. Finds shelter with a caring uncle Pasha. But the desire to find the one who sent him on a “five-year vacation”, and even killed a friend, makes Klim stir up the “rat corner” of corrupt cops and local bandits. 23-year-old Vanya Nechkin was a great driver, and a car mechanic from God. He loved life, and women, provided vigorous joke and elegant conversation. He could pretend to be an Italian tenor and a traffic inspector, understood human weaknesses and forgave a lot. But if he saw injustice, he was ready to tear the bastard’s throat out. He came up with a risky trade for himself: he destroyed cars.

The strange title is explained by the fact that there are two films in the film: one is about a real day in the life of the real Moscow architect Alexander Petrovich Chernov, his mental crisis; and the other is Chernov’s fiction. There is a different fate, a different country, a different life. It is into this very life that Chernov strives to get into - and for the sake of a trip to Spain he will have to commit betrayal. There, for a moment, the doubles will be nearby and both will be on the verge of death. Who will die in the spring of 1978?

The film is about the last months in the life of a professional revolutionary, the poet Alexander Vermishev.

Summer 1943. Soviet commanders become aware about a spies school in the occupied territory of Ukraine running the traitor Karayev. The group of five is sent to destroy the school.

The film takes place in the pre-war years. NKVD captain Frolov is investigating a sabotage at a chemical plant. Suspicion falls on circus performer Erwin Gross. However, the villainous murder of a clown suspends the investigation. It is only with the help of young circus gymnasts that Frolov manages to establish the truth...
