1956. Stefan Madejski, a former KBW lieutenant, is released from prison and rehabilitated. Ten years ago he fought against the gangs, but his brutal and ruthless methods aroused opposition. Because he let go of a band member, his former AK unit colleague, he was brought before a military court and sentenced to fifteen years. Now he is trying to find the people who put him in prison. These encounters give him nothing but bitterness.

Filip buys an 8mm movie camera when his first child is born. Because it's the first camera in town, he's named official photographer by the local Party boss. His horizons widen when he is sent to regional film festivals with his first works but his focus on movie making also leads to domestic strife and philosophical dilemmas.

Set at the end of the XIX-th century. Madame Dulska is the sole and absolute ruler of her house in Cracow. She is ruthless, greedy and oversensitive of the reputation of her family. To protect his son from temptations she overlooks the affair he is having with the maid. Young Dulski first wants to marry the girl, but then yields to his mother demands and turns his interest to a cousin. Everything returns to normal: his father has his habitaul visits to a brothel, his son to a cabaret and Madame Dulska safeguards her reign.

An interesting psychological story about one day in the life of a girl. The heroine of the film can not find a common language with her parents, who do not have time to take closer care of the child and understand the difference of an unusually sensitive girl.

Told in flashback as Mieszko lies feverish in his bed just before the Battle of Cedynia, Gniazdo recounts how the revered leader extended Poland's borders, formed an alliance with Emperor Otto I, and ultimately strengthened his country's autonomy by achieving victory during that crucial battle in the year 972.
