The elderly Levan became infatuated with the wife of his fellow villager, Gentor, the young and flirtatious Pasiko. The claims of the old ladies—in-waiting become known to the gossip girl, and from her to the whole neighborhood.

The film is based on a story by the renowned Czech writer Karel Čapek, which the filmmakers adapted to the everyday life of the region of Samegrelo in Western Georgia. Samegrelo is home to the “world record in throwing,” but the film’s protagonist only achieves this feat after being verbally insulted.
