Pedrito de Andia is an adolescent self-conscious about his height something that, in love with his childhood friend, Isabel, goes to port forward to receive her after a long stay abroad. However, when he sees his friend turned into a slender woman, the boy feels dwarfed and, indeed, when he receives a snub by refusing a dance, preferring a more attractive guy with whom Pedrito fight. This scandal ends in punishment and he is sent to Andia, his town, to think. He agrees with the hope that one day she recognize love beyond appearances.

The rivalry between the old bullfighter Manolo Carmona and young Romerita it takes to seduce Rocio, the Carmona's daughter, and elope with her. After a year, Romerita leaves the girl and the daughter, who spend all kinds of calamities. Some time later, Romerita dies. At the same time, Currito de la Cruz, a young bullfighter sponsored by Carmona, who has always been in love with dew, waiting patiently for the girl forget the past.

Also released as Valley of the Swords, this lugubrious US/Spanish co-production features the usual mid-1960s "tax shelter" international cast. Broderick Crawford plays a despotic 10th century Spanish king who, in cahoots with the invading Moors, has banished handsome Castilian nobleman Spartaco Santoni. With the surreptitious aid of Crawford's daughter Teresa Velasquez, Santoni assembles an army to march against the Moors. In keeping with the 13th century epic poem from which this film was derived ("El Poema de Fernan Gonzales") Santoni's path is smoothed by the celestial intervention of patron saints Milan and Santiago. Among the big names picking up a few tax-free dollars in The Castilian are Cesar Romero, Linda Darnell, Alida Valli and Fernando Rey.
