Marion, also known as Nippelsuse, leaves her boyfriend and has to find new accommodation as well as a job. She decides to become a private detective. She immediately gets a case to follow someone's unfaithful girlfriend.

Schlager fan Dieter still lives with his parents and doesn't really fancy anything: neither women nor regular work. His parents, ideological old hippies, want to restrict Dieter's freedom as little as possible, but they still want to make the love-struck Candy appealing to him. Annoyed by the constant demands, Dieter leaves the house and finds himself in a nightclub. There he meets Petra, who is about to get married to Hilmar, the heir to millions. Petra wants to enjoy one last love affair with Dieter before the wedding. After a passionate kiss, they are both thrown back to 1972. Dieter, who regains consciousness in a shared flat in Berlin, finds out that Petra is in Munich, whereupon he sets off to find her. His journey holds many a bizarre adventure, such as a meeting with his young hippie parents.

15-year-old Elfie literally and metaphorically inhabits a no-man’s-land between the two Germanies shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The film deploys a neorealist aesthetic to reinforce the difficulties confronting the girl, and by inference, Germany.

Monika lives with Rob, a corpse she loves. Her dilemma intensifies when she meets Mark and considers a normal life with him. She must choose between her affection for Rob and a new relationship.

A not-so-clever guy called Bertie with an Opel Manta (a low-budget European sports coupé from the '80s) gets competition in a street race from a guy with a fast Mercedes, and another slick guy with a Ferrari tries to get his hands on Bertie's girlfriend.

The three friends Pat, Nicoletta and Sissy are in their 30s and actually lead very decent lives. But that alone does not satisfy them: Like cats of prey, they are on the hunt for happiness, which they seek in relationships with the opposite sex.

A necrophilic street sweeper who cleans up after grisly accidents brings home a corpse for him and his girlfriend to enjoy sexually, but is dismayed to see that she prefers the corpse over him.
