Richard, an artist, now lives in Tangier. With his help, the young Moroccan Malik manages to reach Europe, the destination of his dreams. That's where Mathilda, a conservative politician, hides him. In a Germany in the not too distant future, queer people have become even more marginalized and under threat. On the last day of winter, Omar is released from prison and, unannounced, visits Ava.

Richard lives apart from his wife. He is unemployed. His life is really not running smoothly right now. Rather by chance, he gets into conversation with the director of his daughter's school, who is desperately looking for teachers - which gives Richard an idea. He is a mathematician. And after all, everyone can become a teacher!

Inspired by the Parables of the African-American futurist author Octavia E. Butler, the film interweaves her worlds with contemporary issues of environmental degradation, far right extremism, and social liberation. The poetic piece expresses a queer utopian imaginary, a longing to create out of the old something new.
