Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche never went to Russia – yet he was always fascinated by this mysterious country and wanted to visit it. This film gives him the possibility to do so after all. However, Nietzsche doesn’t arrive in 19th century Russia, but in a modern country which has been trying for years to create the civilization described by Nietzsche 150 years ago.

With World War I, the Bolshevik Revolution, and the Russian Civil War as backdrop, it's an old-fashioned, blood-and-guts narrative, filled with earthly humor and a wealth of colorful characters. The story concerns the fluctuating fortunes of Grigory Melekhov, a young Cossack who is both a hero and a victim of the uprising.

This movie deals with two friends, 13-14 year old boys. One comes from a more or less stable home (although he is growing up with single mom) and another comes from a broken up family. One day the kids break into a store to pretty much have fun and get something to eat, short time after they get caught and one kid is sent to juvenile prison (14 year old) and another one is released to his being too young to be tried (13 years old). The younger kid feels bad about such decision, feels guilty and tries to help his friend in any way possible. While trying to help he is meeting a guy, who is ex-cop and now down-on-his-luck drunk(played by Priyomykhov himself)... the two become friends. In the finale, the ex-cop has to go one of the PTA meeting at school (his mother could not get away from work and knows nothing about the ex-cop) where suddenly his mother appears and meets the "father"...

The action takes place in the USSR of the 20s. Soviet pioneer Shura Klimova dreams of becoming as famous a movie star as America's favorite and Hollywood pioneer Mary Pickford. The pioneer organization of Shuri condemns her behavior, the comrades are working together on the pioneer Klimova for individualism, but nothing can dissuade the girl and take away her dream.

1947 ... The Savchenko family returns to Moscow from evacuation - husband and wife with Kostya's little son. They settle with Grandma Kostya in a huge communal apartment. Street meets the boy with a flock of local boys. Then there were: the division of the territory with the "Sretensky"; trophy movie “Girl of my dreams”; a school with separate education, camp discipline and essays about the border guard Karatsyup. And the monetary reform of 1947, when all of their savings depreciated in an instant, and the boys let out boats from banknotes in puddles.

Russia is like a whirlpool that sucks in and destroys.

And the innocent people were captured, one of them is already waiting for the execution. Investigator Ignatov leads this case. He has to deal with lawlessness and arbitrariness of the investigating authorities, because of the mistakes of which the innocent were convicted, and the real criminal was never found.
