Two countries,two languages,two groups of friends. Between black humor and bitter realism the film Pencil Knife Baton composes a tragicomic puzzle about friendship in the paradox world we live in.

The second part of a trilogy which focuses on a young Greek woman in three stages of her life as she recalls leaving her homeland of Constantinople. The trilogy is based on the infamous “Septemvriana” events of 1955 — the worst anti-Greek riots in history.

While gliding through still photographs and live action, sounds and silence, black and white and color, spoken word and voiceover, the present, the past and the future, a young Greek woman recalls significant events that take place in three different stages of her life in Turkey; stemming from feelings of separation and loss on account of leaving her homeland.

The occupation of students just before the Panhellenic effervescence inducing s`ena public high school in Piraeus. On the first day of the Panhellenic found dead in the toilets George, with a syringe stuck in the arm. All his friends swear that their informal leader never took drugs. The investigations are difficult and the youth does not show any willingness to cooperate.

Father Hesychius decides to build an orphanage to help the residents of his parish. He tries to sell the church's valuable items, but when he is in danger of being exposed, he changes his plans. He transforms himself into a nighttime avenger and steals from all those who squander their money in nightclubs. Soon, he arouses the suspicions of the priest's wife, since his activities require him to go out at night.

A priest, wanting to attract young people to the church, is determined to do everything he can to win them over. He frequents their hangouts and buys a motorcycle to race with them. Thus, Father Isychios is renamed Father Souza.

Captain Angelos and the soldier Memos participate in a group of experienced ELAS's guerrillas. The team assumes the dangerous mission to reach the center of Athens, under the control of the English and the Greek regular army, and blow up the headquarters of the British headquarters located in the hotel of "Great Britain". When after a fight they manage to reach and place the explosives, the order is revoked. Their headquarters were afraid of the consequences of the possible death of British Prime Minister Wilson Churchill, who suddenly arrived in Athens and so the whole business was canceled.

A typical experimental film, in which a variety of audiovisual techniques are used to create the sense of polymorphic eroticism as developed by European and Mediterranean cinematography of the 20th century. Combining the methods of “animation” and “live action”, this intricate work embodies the idea of an “ars combinatoria”. The structure is loose, with neither a central axis nor a point where everything converges, contributing greatly to the open-ended character of the film, where rhythm is the key element.
