Based on the play of the same name by S.Prokofieva and I.Tokmakova staged by the Central Academic Theater of the Soviet Army. The play is based on the famous legend of Robin Hood.

The head of the field hospital, Stupakov, has lost his wife. He devotes all his love exclusively to his daughter Vera, who works as a nurse in the same hospital. However, Stupakov’s love is selfish. Ignoring Vera's feelings, he tries to separate her from the man she loves. But Vera, defying everything, leaves for the active military unit...

The heroes of the play are the father and son, the Raskatovs, whose lives are marked by the echoes of the past war: the father, a prominent military leader, dies from wounds sustained during the war; the son perishes while disarming a Nazi chemical weapons depot.

Sergei Bukreyev arrives with a team of meliorators in another village and immediately draws attention to the director of the farm Anna Talnikova. And his random companion finds on the yellowed pages the story of the soul of an amazing, extraordinary person who brings misfortune to others all his life.
