The comedic play tells the story of a Black preacher’s scheme to reclaim his inheritance and win back his church from a plantation owner.

Lucy and Lucien are two childhood friends who share a deeply troubled past and struggle to maintain their sanity and sobriety as they cut their teeth in the New York City arts & theater scene. As their breakout moment arrives, both are forced to grapple with a legacy of childhood trauma, addiction, and loss. They must rely on their chosen family of artists and sex workers to help bring them through their dark night of the soul.

Filming their lives, five high school friends document themselves drifting apart over their college years.

What if God’s Original Plan was for queer reproduction, and humanity’s Original Sin was turning away from it? Four Gods—Diekololaoluwalayemi, Ohanzee, Urvisha, and Gedaliah—create two male couples, Dana and Adam, and two female couples, Stephanie and Eve, to multiply through immaculate conception. Centuries later, a shape-shifter urges humans to reproduce without the Gods, causing chaos. The Gods send Jabril to guide Josephine and Mariah, whose child Jesse advocates for the Original Plan. Love, creation, and all forms of connection are revealed as sacred, and the choice to bear children is freely granted. History, society, and human existence are reshaped under this vision, challenging the foundations of family, identity, and relationships.
