In a village where everyone left, Redjo stays behind, he becomes the heart of Sllupkovo. A heartwarming comedy celebrating community resilience. Everybody Calls Redjo, the village hero.

The year is 37 BC. A young Liburnian Volsus is taken by a Roman unit to help in what at first seems a simple task of collecting taxes, but the encounters with local Illyrian tribes soon lead to unexpected turns of events, as they show more resilience to subjugation than meets the eye. We see their archaic, emotional world of quaint and brutal laws and traditions through the eyes of this youngster, regarded by the Romans as a primitive barbarian, and gradually come to understand that their world is not all that different from our own.

After convincing his friends to perform in their drag outfits at a night club owned by a very homophobic businessman, things go awry when their performance is stopped suddenly by a wardrobe malfunction and their true identities are revealed, putting all their lives in instant peril.

The story takes place in March 1999, Kosovo. It is the period of NATO bombing. Massive displacement of Albanians on ethnic basis. Terror, fear, insecurity and hunger have plagued the town of Gjakova.

Liki, a boy from Prishtina, comes to the village to his uncle Sheqa. His acquaintance with life in the town and life with uncle Sheqa and aunt Gjyli brings comic situations that reveal their differences and similarities.
