A queer metaphysical love story that weaves itself through real and imagined sexual encounters across darkrooms, forest cruising zones and highway shoulders. In these fantastical playgrounds, bodies are free to imagine themselves in a multiplicity of forms as they encounter other bodies without preconceived notions of what those other bodies desire, what they will need, and how they should be touched. While trusting the energetic attraction of bodies towards each other and learning through the encounter, INSTINCT simultaneously asks: what does it mean for a queer body to actively (un)learn what it might assume about another body's sex, gender, and desire?

'Southern Scares' follows Ellen, a skeptical college student who stumbles upon a box of lost VHS tapes—episodes of an eerie, unfinished 90s horror documentary hosted by her missing sister, Roberta. As Ellen watches, she unravels a chilling mystery: the legends Roberta investigated—haunted tunnels, forgotten cryptids, and ghostly figures—weren’t just stories. With each tape, Ellen pieces together her sister’s disappearance, discovering something sinister was watching Roberta all along. As the past seeps into the present, Ellen must decide how far she will go to bring her sister back—before she vanishes. Partly shot through the raw lens of VHS footage and set against the haunting backdrop of the early '90s Deep South, Southern Scares isn’t just another horror story—it’s a puzzle, a mystery, and a warning.
