Film-play of the Central Academic Theatre of the Russian Army based on A.N. Ostrovsky's play. In a wealthy merchant's house, young beauty Vera Filippovna languishes like a bird in a cage. At the age of 15, she married the rich man Karkunov. Vera Filippovna never loved her husband, but, being a decent young woman, she was a faithful wife to him. Suddenly, the old man, her husband, is about to die and cannot decide whom to leave his fortune to — his wife, his nephew, or perhaps give it all to the poor. The last days of the Great Patriotic War take place in a military hospital.

In August 1799, Russian troops under the command of A.V. Suvorov, having defeated the French in northern Italy, received an unexpected order. Instead of marching on Paris, they are ordered to go to the remote Swiss Alps, where there is a powerful and countless French army.

Based on the play of the same name by S.Prokofieva and I.Tokmakova staged by the Central Academic Theater of the Soviet Army. The play is based on the famous legend of Robin Hood.

The heroes of the play are the father and son, the Raskatovs, whose lives are marked by the echoes of the past war: the father, a prominent military leader, dies from wounds sustained during the war; the son perishes while disarming a Nazi chemical weapons depot.
